ASC has a progression of centreboard classes to suit all levels and ages. The O’pen BIC(BIC) is a modern, single-handed junior skiff that offers great performance and fun. The BIC is a relatively new addition to the to the ASC class line-up (2011), but a class that is generating interest and fast growth across Australia. I t also has an international flowing as a recognised ISAF class.

Typically the helmsman is aged 10~14 and the ideal weight for sailing a BIC is 65Kg. Maximum weight for a BIC is 90Kg. Sailors in the 30-40Kg weight range may find the BIC a challenge in higher winds strengths. There is an O’pen BIC association active in Australia running regattas as well as State and National competitions. ASC hosted the first round of the NSW O’pen BIC Cup in 2012 with 33 sailors competing.

Coaching suitable to skill levels is provided at all levels, using both internal and external coaching resources.
